When large quantities of mixed gases are needed the investment in the gas mixing system together with bulk distribution is worthwhile. It will optimise economic efficiency offering savings over buying quantities of pre-mixed gases.
Besides offering a wide range of standard equipment WITT can meet a wide variety of specific needs in the field of gas and safety equipment. Gas Mixers range from those with a capacity of a few millimetres up to those systems with capacities of several thousand cubic meters.
These individual solutions from WITT can be found in a wide variety of locations meeting different applications. The gas mixer in the diving vessel, the integrity of aircraft wing fuel tanks and the manufacture and supply of synthetic air into infant hospital wards are examples.
These and other customised solutions are the results of close cooperation between the customer and WITT. WITT has wide long-standing experience in the field of gases.
The name WITT stands for knowledge and precision, reliability, excellent customer support and customised equipment to meet specific needs.
In many industrial and medical applications meticulously clean air is essential. Natural ambient air includes impurities such as dust, germs, viruses, oxides and at worst toxic particles.
An alternative to purification of natural air is the production of synthetic air. This is a mixture of pure oxygen and nitrogen with a similar composition to the atmosphere. The WITT synthetic air generator will reliably produce this mixture at a low initial cost, simple installation, low energy costs and with the minimum of maintenance.
A further example of a successful solution by WITT is the high capacity mixing system for N2/H2 with an integrated analyser and full electronic control. This mixer operates at a large steel works in Germany and is used for surface treatment in annealing furnaces. The system was designed following proven WITT technology and components. The mixture is analysed and measured electronically. The correct amount of H2 is added to maintain the required mixture.
The integrated gas analysis and the control unit is located in a non-hazardous area and controlled from a central operations room. The important advantage of the system is the safety and accuracy and a check and adjustment of the system is possible at any time by remote control.
Helium/Air gas mixtures are used to test the integrity of fuel tanks in aircraft wings. The outlet pressure from the gas mixer has to be kept at a constant level with no increases in pressure to prevent the bursting of the wings during the leak test.
