Launch Of High Pressure Safety Device

09.07.2007

Witt, the German specialist for gas technology, has once again prov-en its pioneering status in the field of safety. According to Witt, the company presently offers the only safety device for a maximum pres-sure of 17 bar, satisfying the regulations of EN730 for Hydrogen and Methane. “Other products available in the marketplace currently op-erate up to a maximum pressure of 10 bar" commented Product Manager Andreas Heyer in Witten. “For many applications eg. flame spraying, this is much too low.”

This engineering performance is not only one of the worlds best, it provides better protection for gas systems and their operators than ever before. Safety experts urge its use and advise conversion. The new safety device carries the designation “F100-17N-ES”

This cylinder-shaped unit can be installed directly in the gas line at the tapping point. Its dimensions (48 mm diameter, 101 mm long) and low weight (1.2 kg) allow for easy installation.  In the event of an accident, the system prevents flames from flashing over from the gas tapping point to the gas supply. In addition to the flame arrestor, the new 17-bar safety device has an integrated, temperature-controlled cut-off valve, which automatically stops the flow of gas when the temperature increases to above 105°C. With an operating tempera-ture range of -10 to +60 °C, all common applications are covered. The metal components of the safety device are stainless steel. A ½"-NPT female fitting is available for connection.

Flame arresters are nothing new for the manufacturer WITT; on the contrary, WITT has been developing and patenting this technology for decades. The company has now produced safety equipment for gases for decades and is recognized worldwide as a market leader. Witt continue to develop new products, which enables them to re-main firm market leaders. A comprehensive after sales service is available to all end users, even on site.
