Gas Filters

WITT gas filters enable the finest filtering of impurities in technical gases such as acetylene, argon., oxygen, hydrogen, methane, carbon dioxide, helium, compressed air and ethylene.  They thus protect downstream equipment and systems. Some gas filters are also referred to as gas cleaners.

Gas filters for pipelines and outlet points

WITT gas filters enable the finest filtering of impurities in technical gases such as acetylene, argon., oxygen, hydrogen, methane, carbon dioxide, helium, compressed air and ethylene.  They thus protect downstream equipment and systems. Some gas filters are also referred to as gas cleaners.

Gases used for industrial purposes can contain impurities, whether due to lower gas quality or due to residues and contamination in piping systems or gas-carrying systems. These tiny dirt, metallic and oil particles are caused, for example, by corrosion of the pipes or by the operation of associated valves and fittings. The smallest particles can damage downstream systems such as pressure regulators, tapping points, or laser machines and impair their function. They can increase downtime and under certain circumstances also endanger process safety.

WITT gas filters or gas cleaners are available in various designs and for numerous application areas:

Fine filters are used, for example, to supply burners in the glass industry, in laboratories or upstream of laser cutting machines. They trap minute particles down to 3 µm and are particularly suitable for small flow rates.

Various gas filter models are also available for high flow rates and particle sizes up to 80 µm. Some have a condensate drain and, depending on requirements, are particularly suitable for use with oxygen due to bronze or stainless steel inserts. The model gas filter 77 (GOX filter) complies with the EIGA (EIGA Guideline IGC Doc 13/12/E "Oxygen Pipeline and Piping Systems") specifications for use with oxygen and is frequently used for gas supply in laser technology, for example in laser cutting systems.

Depending on the model, WITT gas filters can be installed in pipelines, on gas supply tanks or even directly at user outlet points and at the inlets of laser machines. The filter inserts can be changed while the filter is installed.
